Some christmas gifts

Åt min mamma och syster fick jag faktiskt ihop varsin engensydd handväska som julklapp. Det känns alltid extra fint att ge bort saker man gjort själv. Den övre väskan är klappen till mamma och är sydd i ett mjukt, blått manchestertyg med blommor på. Den nedre väskan är en lite mindre modell till min syster, där mobilen har en egen liten ficka på insidan, lagom att ta med på festen kanske, endast plats för det viktigaste. Båda handväskorna är gjorda ur eget huvud och har samma axelremsystem, reglerbart i 2 lägen med en knapp.

This christmas I managed to make the christmas gifts for my mother and sister by myself, one handbag for each of them. When you make something yourself to give away it's always very appreciated and it makes you feel good in a special way. The first bag, for my mother, is sewn in a soft, blue corduroy fabric with small flowers on. The next bag, for my sister, is a smaller model, where the mobile has it's own little pocket on the inside. This one I think will be suitable for the party, when you just need to bring the most important. Both the bags are my own design and has the same system with adjustables straps.

Esta navidad logré hacer los regalos para mi madre y mi hermana, yo misma. Un bolso para cada una de ellas. Dar algo que has hecho tu misma siempre es muy apreciado y te da una sensación especial. El primer bolso, para mi madre, cosí en una tela de pana, azul y con flores pequeñas. El próximo bolso, para mi hermana, es otro modelo más pequeño, con un bolsillo especial para el mobil en el interior. Ya que solamente cabe lo más importante me puedo imaginar que será apropiado para la fiesta por ejemplo. Los dos bolsos están hechos de creación propia y tienen el mismo sistema adjustable de las correas.

Lucia!

Ja nu har lucia varit här. Hon kom hit till Spanien och hälsade på faktiskt! Det var den sötaste och goaste lucior av dem alla och jag kallar henne min egen lilla luciaprinsessa! Lucialinnet sydde jag för någon vecka sedan men luciakronan satt jag uppe och kämpade med till kl 01 på natten till den 13:e, men det var värt allt besvär. Lilla N var väl inte allt för förtjust i att ha luciakronan på huvudet men i kortare stunder fick vi se den på. Luciakronan är virkad och inspirerad från Mamma P. Sen hittade jag ett så fint nystan med grönt, lite tofsigt garn och det fick en fin känsla av barr faktiskt.

So she came, Lucia, to us here in Spain too. It was the most pretty and cosy Lucia of them all and I call her my own Lucia Princess! The white dress I sew a week ago but with the crown I sat up until 1 pm the night to the 13th, and struggled, but that it was all worth. Little N wasn't that comfortable with wearing it on the head but during some short moments she accepted it on. The crown of Lucia is crocheted and inspirated from Mamma P. I found a beautiful green ball of yarn that turned out very good. It's a little more "hairy" than a normal one.

Sí, ahora estuvo aquí. Realmente vino a España para visitarnos! Era la Lucia mas guapina y cariñosa de todas y la llamo mi propia princesa Lucia. El vestido blanco había acabado hace una semana pero con la corona estuve todavía trabajando hasta la 1 por la noche el 12 pero absolutamente valía la pena. A la pequeña N no le gustó mucho llevar la corona pero en unos momentos breves podríamos verla puesta. La corona de Lucia está inspirada de Mamma P. Encontré un ovillo perfecto, era verde y tenía como "pelos", eso le dio a la corona una sensación bonita de como si fuera de abeto, como las coronas de verdad ;-)

Lottery!

Nu när min besöksräknare har passerat 1000 besökare så tänkte jag bjuda på ett litet lotteri! Man kan vinna en klänning eller en väst, se tidigare två inlägg för exenpel. Slutresultatet kommer dock inte att bli exakt som dessa utan lite utefter önskemål om färg osv och tillgång på tyg. västar / vests / chalecos

Eftersom jag själv har en liten tjej så blir det ju mycket klänningar sydda men för att utmana mig själv ville jag komma på något fint och stiligt att göra till små tuffa pojkar också, så då blev det ett gäng västar! Min mamma tyckte att det lät lite gubbigt med väst till en lillkille men jag skulle absolut klä upp min son (om jag hade en) i någon av dessa små tuffa västar. Eftersom det inte behövs så mycket tyg så tog jag snuttar som jag hade hemma.

Tycker ni de ser gubbiga ut? Skulle ni som har småkillar kunna tänka er att klä upp dem i en av dessa?

As I have a little girl I make a lot of dresses and therefor, to give myself a challenge, I also wanted to create something nice and elegant for small and cool baby boys. So, here you have some vests! My mother didn't thought it sounded very fun with a vest for a little boy but I should certanly dress up my son (if I had one) in one of these cool vests. As you don't need much fabric I used some of the ones that I already got at home.

Do you think that they look more for an old man? If you have a son, would it be posible that you could dress him up in one of these?

Ya que tengo una hija, coso muchos vestidos y por eso, para darme a mi misma un desafío, quería crear algo bonito y elegante para los pequeños pero chulos chicos también. Y por eso, aquí tenéis unos chalecos! A mi madre no le pareció tan guay/divertido con chaleco para un niño pequeño pero yo, si tuviera un hijo, absolutamente le pondría en uno de estos chalecos. Como no se necesita mucha tela para hacerlos, usé retales que ya tenía en casa.

Os parece que los chalecos más es moda de señores mayores? Para las que tienen hijos, os podríais imaginar ponerlos uno de estos?

klänningar / dresses / vestidos

åtta små klänningar i fyra olika storlekar (50, 56, 62-68, 84) har blivit till. Sex av dem är skickade till Sverige nu för att hitta nya ägare där. Alla tyger är inhandlade i de två lokala tygbutikerna runt hörnet och knapparna (antika) är inköpta i min favoritknappaffär. De flesta tygerna är små restbitar så det är nästan omöjligt att göra en likadan till, men det är ju en del av konceptet, att det skall vara unikt! Eftersom jag gillar att göra applikationer så fortsätter jag på det spåret och hittar på nya små roligheter.

Eight small dresses, in four different sizes (50, 56, 62-68, 84), are now finished. Six of them have been sent to Sweden to find new owners over there. All the fabrics are bought in the two local stores around the corner and the buttons (antique ones) are of course bought in my favourite button store. Most of the fabrics are small pieces that were left over, so it's almost impossible to create another one just the same, but that's part of the concept, it has to be unique! As I like to make applications I go on with that and try to create new and funny ones.

Ocho nuevos pequeños vestidos de cuatro diferentes tallas (50, 56, 62-68, 84), han sido acabados. Seis de ellos he enviado a Suecia para que encuentren nuevos dueños allí. Todas las telas he comprado en las tiendas de telas, que tengo aquí cerca y los botones (son antiguos) naturalmente he encontrado en mi tienda favorita de botones. La mayoría de las telas usadas son retales/ piezas pequeñas y por eso sería casi imposible crear otro igual, pero eso es parte del concepto, tiene que ser único! Como a mí me gusta hacer aplicaciones, sigo haciéndolo intentando crear nuevas y divertidas.

My dear mother sent me a dress (the first photo) a while ago that was made by my grandmother for me, when I was about 2 years old. My grandmother sew a lot for her children and grandchildren and I wanted to reuse her design to let it live on a little longer. The dress above is the result and I have made various changes from the original. I added a flounce at the botton that is to look more like a slip and I made a different pocket. Little N was delighted with the dress and it will be her christmas dress I think.

Mi querida madre me mandó un vestido (la primera foto) hace un tiempo, que me hizo mi abuela cuando yo tenía alrededor de 2 añitos. Mi abuela cosía mucho para sus hijos y sus nietos y ahora quería reusar su diseño del vestido para que siguiera vivo un poco más. El vestido arriba es el resultado y he hecho varios cambios en relación con el original. Añadí un volante en la falda cual quiero que parezca más como si fuera una enagua y después puse un bolsillo diferente. A la peque le encantó el vestido y será su vestido para estas Navidades.

Min kära mor skickade för ett tag sedan en klänning (det översta fotot), som min mormor gjorde åt mig när jag var runt 2 år. Min mormor sydde mycket, åt sina barn och barnbarn och nu ville jag återanvända hennes design så att den får leva vidare lite längre. Klänningen som ni ser ovan är resultatet. Jag har dock gjort ett par ändringar/tillägg i designen i förhållande till originalet. Lade till en volang nertill som jag vill jag se ut lite som om det vore en underkjol som tittar fram och sen satte jag på en lite annorlunda ficka. Lilla N blev förtjust i klänningen och det får nog bli finklänningen till årts jul.

These are the fresh new trousers for babies in the LUSTIG collection! A gordious, soft corduroy in diferent colours and combinations to make it more funny. These are in the sizes 56 and 62. They are lined for the season with some beautiful, cotton tricot fabrics. The applications on the pockets are cut out from another fabric that I had at home for the moment.

Estos pantalones son las últimas novedades para bebés en la colección LUSTIG. Es pana de diferentes colores y de alta calidad (supersuave). Combinando los diferentes colores, me parece sale mucho más divertido. Estos son te talla 56 y 62. Están forrados para la temporada con unas bonitas telas de tricot/punta, de algodón. Las aplicaciones en los bolsillos he cortado de una tela que ya tenía en casa.

Dessa byxor är det nyaste tillskotttet i kollektionen LUSTIG. Jag har använt mig av ett underbart, fint manchestertyg i olika färger och kombinerat lite olika för att göra det hela lite roligare. Storleken är 56 och 62. De är fodrade för vintersäsongen med fina, mönstrade bomullstrikåer. Aplikationerna klipptejag ut från ett annat tyg som jag redan hade hemma.

autum trousers/ pantalones de otoño/ höstbyxor

These corduroy trousers has been sent to Sweden a week ago. The little boy that they were sewn is about 1 year and I have now news from the mom, who said they fit very good and they are very satisfied! She sent me a couple of photos and was so kind to let me show them here on the blog for you! The fabric is the same as the winter jacket below and the name label is just like this one.

Estos pantalones de pana han sido enviados a Suecia, hace una semana. El niño que va a llevarlos tiene sobre 1 año y ahora tengo noticias de su madre que dice que le quedan muy bien y están muy contentos! Me envió un par de fotos y me dio el permiso de subirlas aquí en e blog. La tela es la misma que en la jaqueta más abajo y la etiqueta con el nombre es igual que esta.

Dessa byxor skickades iväg till Sverige för ca. en vecka sedan. Pojken som de är sydda till är runt 1 år gammal och jag har nu fått klartecken från hans mamma att de passar fint och att deär mycket nöjda! Jag fick ett par foton också så nu kan ni se hur fint de passar på. Tyget är desamma som i vinterjackan nedan och namlappen är likadan som denna.

long shorts / pescadores / långa shorts

I had just a bit of this wonderful jeans fabric left and it wasn't enough for a pair of trousers of normal lenght, so this is the result! Long shorts with a beautiful lining to make them appropriate for an autum or spring season. They are reversible if you want but on the other side there are no pockets. To make them special I the covers to the pocket in a different form and of course with a pair of nice buttons, hearts! In the end of the legs I sew with elastic thread to make them fit better. This model work both for girls and boys, don't you think?

Solo me quedaba un poquito de esta tela vaquera tan bonita y no era suficiente para unos pantalones normales, así que esto es el resultado! Largos pantalones cortos ;-) o pescadores mejor dicho, con un forro bonito para que sirvan en una temporada de otoño o primavera. Son reversibles si quieres pero en el otro lado no hay bolsos. Para hacerlos más especiales hice las tapas de los bolsillos de una forma diferente y unos botones guapos, por supuesto! En el final cosé con hilo elástico para que ajustara mejor a las piernas. Esye modelo funciona igual para chicas como para chicos, no os parece?

Jag hade bara kvar en liten snutt av detta fina jeanstyg och det räckte inte för att göra ett par normallånga byxor, så detta är resultatet! Långa shorts med ett fint fodertyg så att de passar för en höst- eller vårsäsong. Byxorna är vändbara men på andra sidan finns det dock inga fickor. För att de skulle få en unik look så klippte jag till lite annorlunda form på ficklocken och satte på ett par vackra knappar såklart, av hjärtform! I bensluten sydde jag med elastisk tråd så att passformen skulle bli bättre. Denna modellen funkar lika bra för tjej som för kille, eller vad tycker ni?

2nd hat with name/ 2º gorro con nombre / 2:a mössan med namn

This hat has been sent to the new little cousin in Madrid, Pilar. It has the same kind of label with the name on it as this hat, just that here I chose to not put on the velcro. Pilar is a 2 month year old baby so I made this hat very soft and with good protection for the ears.

Este gorro ha sido enviado a la nueva prima en Madrid, Pilar. Tiene el mismo tipo de etiqueta con el nombre que este gorro, solamente que este no lleva velcro. Pilar es un bebé de 2 meses, así que hice el gorrín muy suave y con buena protección para los oídos.

Den här mössan har skickats iväg till den nya lilla kusinen i Madrid, Pilar. Den har samma typ av namnlapp som den här mössan, förutom att denna variant blev utan kardborre. Pilar är en liten 2-månadersbebis så jag gjorde mössan mjuk o go och med gott skydd för öronen.

winter jacket / abrigo de invierno / vinterjacka

This is the biggest and most complicated project that I have done until now. It's a winter jacket in a dark, turqoise corduory all lined with fleece fabric and also a decoration lining in the hood and sleeves. The pattern is all my own, developed from this autum jacket. It's my first time ever to make a hood and I wanted it to have a pointed top. Little N looks a bit like the Little Red Riding Hood in the jacket, just that this one is the Little Green Riding Hood! The big red button is a new one (an extra from another garment) but the pink ones on the inside are antique. I crocheted three small decoration balls for the hood and put on two pockets. We have not been able to test it outside yet, as the autum is still very warm here. I am not complaining ;-)

Esto es el proyeto más grande y más complicado que he hecho hasta ahora. Es un abrigo de invierno en pana turquesa y oscura, todo con forro polar por dentro. Además lleva un forro de decoración en la capucha y en las mangas. El patron/modelo es todo mío, evolucionado de esta jaqueta de otoño. Es la primera vez que hago una capucha y quería que tuviera la punta muy marcada, no redonda. La peque parece un poco a la Caperucita Roja en el abrigo, solamente que esta es la Caperucita Verde! El botón rojo es nuevo (un extra de otra prenda) pero los rosas en el interior son antiguos. Hice también unas bolitas de ganchillo para decorar y un par de bolsos. Todavía no hemos probado el abrigo fuera, ya que el otoño aquí sigue muy calentito (no me quejo) ;-)

Detta är mitt hittils största och mest komplicerade projekt: en vinterjacka i mörkturkos manchester, helfodrad med grå fleece och även dekorationsfodrad i luva och ärmslut. Mönstret är mitt eget, en utveckling av denna höstjackan. Det är allra första gången som jag gör något med huva och jag ville få till en fin spetsig sådan, inte rund. Lilla N ser lite ut som Rödluvan i jackan, men det blir väl Grönluvan nu då istället! Den stora röda knappen är ny (en extraknapp från ett annat plagg) men de rosa knapparna på insidan är gamla godingar. Till dekorering virkade jag tre små bollar i olika färger och satte på ett par rundade fickor. Vi har ännu inte haft möjlighet att prova jackan utomhus eftersom hösten fortfarande är varm o go (jag klagar inte alls) ;-)

This cap is an order for a kid named Igor. I made a label in velour and stitched his name on it, on the backside I put velcro, a funny detail. Hope it fits well.

Este gorro es un pedido para un chico que se llama Igor. Hice una etiqueta en velour y bordé su nombre en ella. En la etiqueta y en el gorro puse velcro, un detalle divertido. Espero que le quede bien bonito.

Den här mössan är en beställning till en pojke som heter Igor. Jag gjorde en liten etikett i velour och broderade hans namn på den. På baksidan av etiketten och på mössan sydde jag fast lite kardborre, en kul detalj. Hoppas mössan passar fint.

varma mössor / warm hats / gorros calentitos

Dessa fyra mössor lyckades jag tillverka en morgon när Lilla N fortfarande sov. De skickades iväg sedan till åmål för att vara med på en liten marknad. Hoppas att de finner nya ägare som de kan värma. Yttermaterialet är lite olika tyger som jag hade kvar i gömmorna men alla är fodrade med en jättego grå fleece. Lite applikationer oxå såklart;-)

These four hats, I managed to make a monday morning, when Little N was still sleeping. Now they have been sent to Sweden, to the city of my mother, to participate at a small market. I hope the find new owners to keep warm. They are made of diferent fabrics that I had at home. All of them are lined with a supercosy, grey fleece. Of course there are some applications also ;-)

Estos cuatro gorros logré hacer un lunes por la mañana, cuando La peque todavía estaba durmiendo. Ahora han sido enviados a Suecia, al pueblo de mi madre, para participar en un mercado pequeño. Espero que encuentren nuevos dueños. Están hechos de diferentes telas que ya tenía en casa pero como forro llevan todos un forro polar, muy suave y caliente. Tambien llevan aplicaciones, es que me gusta mucho porque da un toque especial y personal;-)

sweater and tights / camiseta y leggings / långärmad tröja och tajts

To match the corduroy dress, that I bloged about before, I made these tights/leggings in the same velour as the hearts in the applications. The sweater is a test to make a model with raglan sleeve before I cut more of the velour fabric to make the final sweater. It turned out ok but I have to ake some small adjustments.

Para hacer juego con el vestido en la entrada anterior, hice estos leggings en el mismo velour que usé para los corazones para el vestido. La camiseta es una prueba de este tipo de manga (cómo se llama en español?) antes de cortar en la tela de velour para hacer la camiseta final. Salió bastante bien pero tendré que hacer unos pocos cambios.

För att matcha till manchesterklänningen, som jag bloggade om i det förra inlägget, gjorde jag dessa tajts i samma velour som jag använde för hjärtapplikationerna. Tröjan är ett första test på en tröja med raglanärm. Meningen är att göra en tröja i velouren men jag vill inte klippa och slösa i det tyget... måste ha en fin modell först. Lite småändringar måste jag ordna.

corduroy dress / vestido de pana / manchesterklänning

As the winter is coming I decided to make a dress with a good and warm lining, fleece. This time the corduroy fabric is a light mauve and I just love it! The fleece fabric is of a great quality and of all the colours that they had, I chose a grey one. This time the buttons are new, but I think this was maybe the last time ... very expensive and not so beautiful. They don't have soul as the others ;-) Well, if you are in a hurry to finish your project, these things happen. I put on three soft hearts in a wonderful velour fabric, that I bought in Sweden a month ago.

Como está llegando el invierno, me decidí hacer un vestido con un forro caliente, forro polar. El color de la pana esta vez es una violeta clara y me encanta! El forro polar es de una calidad muy buena y de todos los colores que tenían, elegí este gris. Esta vez los botones son nuevos pero tal vez fuera la última vez ... me salieron muy caros y además no son para nada tan bonitos como los antiguos. Tampoco tienen alma como los otros ;-) Bueno, estas son cosas que pasan cuando tienes prisa para acabar un proyecto. Puse tres corazones en un velour maravilloso, que compré en Suecia hace un mes.

Eftersom vintern är på intåg så bestämde jag mig för att göra en klänning med varmt foder, fleece. Till klänningen denna gång använde jag mig av ett ljustlila manchestertyg som jag bara älskar! Fleecetyget är av prima kvalitet och av alla färger som fanns att välja mellan så valde jag denna grå. Denna gång har jag använt mig av nya knappar, men det var nog sista gången... de var jättedyra och inte alls så fina som de gamla, antika. Det känns inte heller som om de har sån fin själ som de äldre knapparna ;-) Jaja, det är sånt som händer när man snabbt vill avsluta ett projekt och inte har tid att vänta. Jag satte dit tre stycken hjärtan också i en underbart go plysch, som jag köpte i Sverige för en månad sedan.

new born kit / kit para recien nacido / set till nyfödd

I have these wonderful fabrics in two colours, in cordury, that I now am working in. I am for the moment making a kit for a new born baby, a second cousin to Little N. These trousers and the small dress, all with a lining of the white fabric with circles, are what I have finished for now. More things are to come soon... diferent combinations of the above fabrics.

Tengo estas maravillosas telas en pana, en dos colores, en cuales estoy trabajando ahora. Por el momento estoy haciendo un "kit" para un recien nacido, una segunda prima de mi pequeña. Estos pantalones y el pequeño vestido, todo forrado en la tela blanca con lunares, es lo que he logrado hasta ahora. Más cosas vendrán pronto... en combinaciones de las mismas telas.

Jag har dessa två underbara manchestertyger som jag arbetar med för tillfället. I orange och grönt. För tillfället håller jag på med ett set för en nyfödd bebis, en tremänning till Lilla N. Dessa muddbyxor och den lilla klänningen, båda fodrade med det vita tyget med prickar på, är vad jag kunnat avsluta än så länge. Men, det kommer mer... i samma tyger men i olika kombinationer.

crochet cap / gorro de ganchillo / virkad mössa

Inspirated of the beautiful hats of stora lilla J, I made this crochet hat in my own style. It took a while as I made it little by little, testing it on the head of Little N. I made a small brim and protection for the ears. In the end it fits like the glove on the hand and I am happy for that and Little N looked herself in the mirror and laughed ;-)
The colours on the fotos to the left turned out very bad but on the ones to the right, with the girl and the bear sitting as a model, the colour is better.

Inspirada de los gorros tan guapos de stora lilla J, de decidí intentar hacer un gorro de propio estilo. Lo hice de ganchillo, poco a poco, probandolo en la cabeza de la peque. Hice una visera pequeña y dos orejeras que van a proteger los oídos sensibles de la nena mía. Me gustó como salió el gorro al final y la nena se miró en el espejo y se rió, mejor nota no podría tener ;-)
En la foto, los colores a la izquierda salieron muy mal pero los a la derecha parecen mas de verdad. El osito blanco y la nena sirvieron como modelos.

Inspirerad av stora lilla J´s vackra mepsar ville jag prova att virka en egen mössa åt Lilla N. Jag virkade lite i taget och satte den på hennes huvud och provade fram. Det tog sin lilla tid men jag blev väldigt nöjd! Jag försökte mig på ett litet brätte och sen gjorde jag långa trekantiga öronlappar som skyddar känsliga öron mot morgon- och kvällsvindar. Lilla N tittade sig nöjt i spegeln när den var färdig och skrattade så jag tar det som ett gott betyg ;-)
Färgerna i fotona till vänster stämmer inte alls med verkligheten, fotona på mössan till höger däremot, där den vita nallen och lillan fick sitta modell, blev bättre i färg. bodysuit for the little lady

Now it´s done, the first homemade bodysuit for Little N, as I descovered that she did not have any that now fits her. As this is my first, I can accept that there are some adjustments that has do be done. I put on a heart application as it was already prepared before, just waiting for a garment... Well, the body is perfect for her and there will certainly be more, but modified.

Ja nu är den första egensydda omlottbodyn avklarad. Den har väl en del skavanker men det får jag väl acceptera, det går ju att ändra på till nästa exemplar, för fler blir det säkert. Det var svårt att få dit kantbanden snyggt tyckte jag, kom inte på nåt bra sätt. Har ni några tips? Dottern fick bära bodyn idag och den sitter perfekt! Den är sydd i ett lite tjockare blått trikåtyg med muddar och kantband i ett av muddtygerna som jag bloggat om innan. Tyvärr äger jag ingen tryckknappsapparat så de tre små tryckknapparna är såna små, gammeldags, isydda för hand, tar ju 1/2 timme bara det...

a new brace dress / ny hängsleklänning

Using the same model as I in this dress, I made a new one in different fabric. This is made of the same wonderful, very fine corduroy that I used for the trousers below. It is really a very, very late birthday gift to the daughter of a friend of mine in Gothenburg and I posted it today so hopefully it will get there on friday/monday.

This time I remembered to put the buttons right and I also made the lining a bit larger, which turned out better. The only bad thing is that I could not make the braces adjustable, as I had not the material at home. Hope it fits good Tea!

Detta är en hängsleklänning av samma modell, mitt eget mönster, som denna klänning. Denna nya variant är dock gjort i ett finspårigt manchestertyg i två färger. Den skickades iväg idag som en sen födelsedagspresent till en vän till mig i Göteborg, ja eller rättare sagt till hennes dotter ;-)

Till skillnad från jeansvarianten har jag nu förbättrat lite småsaker, som t.ex. knapparna. Dock kunde jag inte göra hängslena justerbara eftersom jag inte hade hemma den där lilla detaljen...synd. Hoppas att den passar fint ändå till lilla Tea!

baby trousers for the new cousin!

As my dear grandmá died a few weaks ago, we went to Sweden to participate at the funeral. It was very beautiful with lovely music and all the family together, as it should be.

Although, even if it´s always tragic when people die, there will be other things that shine up your life. Two days before the funeral was the new cousin of little N born, 1 week early. And luckily we came to Sweden the day after (we only stayed for 4 days) and could come and visit my brother and his family with the little baby!

As a small gift for the baby I had made a pair of trousers in green, fine corduroy (manchester) with white cuffs from the fabric I blogged about before. I used the exellent guide of älsklingsfrö to make them with lining. As Iam fond of applications, I made a little bear on the front. I thought they looked sooo small when I had them ready in my hands but when I hold the little baby boy they looked very big. It's incredible that Little N weight almost half kilo less when she was born (this baby weight 2900g).

fabrics from Sweden / muddtyger

Look, how wonderful to have fabric at home to make cuffs for trousers and sweatshirts! As I in Spain not have been able to find any of this fabric, my mother brought it from Sweden when she came a few weeks ago.

Ska nog börja skriva lite på svenska, iallafall när det känns som om det behövs. Jo som ni förstår så har jag äntligen fått hem lite tyger som jag kan göra muddar av! Har letat i de få tygaffärer som finns här i León men inte kunnat hitta, så nu tog min kära mor med sig från höstsverige. Tack mamma!

brace skirt/dress

As I still had a bit of the jeans fabric left from the frog dress, I decided that I wanted to try to make a dress with braces. I had another dress and a pair of old brace trousers as model but this design is my own. I put a lining just on the upper part of the dress. The bottons are antique ones from my special botton store (3m x 3m, with a looot of antique bottons in boxes, classified by colours) and the brace clips are reused from a pair of old braces. I have surprised myself and finished this one also before Little N's birthday on sunday and now I cannot decide which one she will wear... what do you think?

This is Alva, the sweet girl of my friend, to whom I sent these jeans and this tunic. Of course I am pleasedthat the clothes were appreciated and as what I can see the girl seems very happy! This is the most important! I hope she will use them much. Thank you so much for the photos Kattis!

elefant rattle

This is the latest project: an elefant rattle, that makes a tjin-tjin noise when you shake it, as I put a small rattle in the head. I have named it Svea after my grandmother, who is very ill at the moment and may be leaving this world soon. It is so sad when people you love has to die, even if they are old. Luckily they will always stay in our hearts.

tunic with panties

Last time when I went to my fabric shop I saw a nice, very fine fabric in great colours. The woman in the store asked me what I would use it for and I said: well, a dress for the baby! She looked at me a bit surprised, and I think she thougt "poor girl, a dress in this fabric???", but then she smiled at me and gave me a bit of it for free. Probably she sell this fabric more for curtains or something like that. I thought it as a dress first but it turned out pretty short, so I also made matching panties.

For a good friend of mine, who may in this moment be having her first baby, I made this dress as a gift. Today I will send it to Sweden. Hope yo like it Hanna!

1 birthday dress

As I know that sometimes it takes a long time to make the garment I'm thinking of, I started to make this birthday dress for Little N (birthday in middle of september). The frog fabric is just lovely and I bought it on Tradera a long time ago but until now I didn´t dare to cut in it. It was my boyfriend who had the idea to use it for this dress and together have we created the design (the basic pattern is from a dress in a Burda paper).

dress/tunic

Together with the trousers that I blogged about before I made a dress/tunic for my friends daughter. It is made of the same fabric as the blue dres

s but I made two heart applications instead of one, and of course the botton is different, every garment I do is unique. It was thought as a dress first but I think that it will be more like a tunic, luckely my friend liked it anyway. Now I only hope that the clothes fit well. As a small gift for being my first real customer I also made a cap (the one with a heart of course).

lottery

In the world of all blogs I have now found the first one with spanish roots, which made me very happy! I am participating in a kind of lottery that Aleisa has on her blog and I hope of course that I will be the winner of the two beautiful fabrics that she offers to the winner! From now on I will surely be a faithful follower of hers. Gracias Aleisa por la inspiración!

jeans

I have made these trousers for the girl of a friend of mine. They are made of a fine, a bit elastic, jeans fabric. My friend saw and liked the long shorts with the heart on the pocket that I have blogged about before so these jeans are inspirated by them. As she wanted them for the autum/winter (in Sweden), I also put a lining.

new logo

Now I have passed from my handmade logo to a more professional one. As I am fond of the lizards I put a lizard in the swedish name for it. I am really pleased of the result!

jacket and cap

Now I have finished this set with a jacket and a cap in the same fabric. The pattern for the jacket is my own and the same as the turquoise jacket below. This time the fabric is a sturdy cotton and the size of the jacket turned out to be smaller, as the fabric is not elastic. The hat/cap is a test (first time i try to make a cap) and the pattern is taken from here (in swedish), although I have modified it a bit and put a lining also. It all turned out good and Little N looks like a train driver/trainstation worker in it ;-)

beach dress

Mostly when I go to my fabric store I don't know exactly what I'm looking for. Usually I find something that I like and then the ideas come of what to create of them. This is a fine terry fabric that I bought in various colours.

The day before yesterday I made this dress and yesterday I put it on Little N, who walked happy around the apartment with her new dress.

autum jacket

One of my favourite colours is turcuoise and when I found this material I just had to by it. I have been thinking of how to find a soloution for a jacket/sweater without zipper or a lot of buttons (even if I love buttons), for babies, and inspirated of a sweater from the clothes Julian Red I came out with this idea, that turned out really good.

The jacket has a high collar that you close with one big button. The lining is a thin tricot that cover the hole inside and at the bottom of the jacket there is a thin elastic string so that you can tighten it if you like.

cardigan

An old cardigan of mine that I first had the meaning to just get rid of, transformed to a new, much smaller one with new, happy heart buttons for Little N.

large shorts

In the same thin tricot as the dress before, I made these large shorts with one pocket, decorated with a heart application.

summer dress

The warmest summer days require high sun protection, a lot of water and a light summer dress. This dress in a thin, blue tricot with flower applications has also matching panties.
